It maybe due to the fact that Picasso was born here that so many people find their way to Malaga. However, the number of attractions the city and outer regions has to offer means that visitors here are never bored. With everything from Baroque architecture and Moorish fortresses, to impeccable beaches and a bustling nightlife, Malaga is a one-stop destination in its own right. But if you are wise, you will take every opportunity to get out and explore the diverse offerings and strong culture of Andalusia.

For a spectacular wide-spanning view of the Andalusian countryside, take a trip to Benalmadena, where you can catch a cable car 700 meters into the mountains. The towering location offers magnificent views stretching from the rugged eastern coastline to the left and the Rock of Gibraltar to the right. The landscape is speckled with the unmistakable Andalusian white-washed stone buildings among rich greens of pine forests.Malaga hire car discounts

Not far from the base of the cable car station you will find Tivoli World, an amusement and theme park with a range of activities including over 30 rides and a host of shows and performances from around the world. It is located among beautiful gardens, walkways and fountains, perfect for those who prefer to relax and leave the adventure activities to others. If you are more interested in life underwater, take a trip to Selwo Marina, home to a fascinating range of sea creatures from the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans, particularly dolphins and penguins.

The Costa del Sol is home to more resort towns than it probably needs, but most are charming places with a wealth of attractions for visitors. Two among the coastal stretch of resorts are Fuengirola and Torremonlinos. Fuengirola, with its miles of superb beaches, is home to some of Andalusia’s best markets. With a large, street market on Saturdays and a great boot leg market on Tuesdays, you are bound to find all sorts of interesting gifts to take back home.

It has not been long since Torremolinos was just a small fishing village, but today it is one of the region’s most visited places. Here you will find a number of attractions for all the family, including Aqualand, Crocodile World and Magic Palace. They may sound slightly tacky destinations, but are not to be missed for a fun filled daytrip.

For a step back in time, head for the mountains around Malaga where you can explore any number of small villages hidden among the luscious green landscape. Although Mijas, Frigliana and Ronda have bus routes coming and going from Malaga, hiring a car will give you the freedom to explore places that many would not get to see. The local traditions of these white-washed villages have changed very little in centuries. The pace of life is so relaxed, you may forget to leave, enthralled by the subtle wealth of history and culture.

The roads can be challenging but are worth every heart beat missed for the beautiful scenery encountered. Frigiliana has been officially recognised as Spain’s most picturesque village for a number of years. Cheapest online Malaga car hire A stroll around the town offers an insight into local history, with tiled plaques documenting various events throughout the ages. There is also a look out spot farther up the mountain, perfect for a relaxing picnic.

The capital of Andalusia is another of the region’s gems. Only 90 minutes from Malaga, Granada is home to the amazing historical site of Alhambra. Alhambra is a large complex of Moorish palaces and manicured gardens set among the foothills of the soaring mountain range, the Sierra Nevada. The hill opposite the Alhambra and a stroll to the top offers dramatic views of the historical monument and the Sierra behind. While inside the city, you will come across a charming range of shops, bars and restaurants, perfect for a relaxing glass of Spanish wine and an evening of people watching.

If you are coming to Spain to hit the surf, Tarifa is the place to go. It is quite a journey, around 110 miles (180kms) from Malaga, but is worth it for its exciting wind surfing opportunities, breathtaking rugged coastline and wealth of flora and fauna. Choose any one of a number of exciting adventure activities such as horseback back riding along the beach, hand gliding, kite-surfing and rock-climbing.

After you have used all the energy you can, take a leisurely stroll around the charming town, with its 8th century architecture and narrow, cobbled-stoned streets. Sample some of the region’s best offerings of tapas or treat yourself to something new in any one of a number of trendy clothing shops. One of the best things about Tarifa is the view of the African Rif mountains, across the ocean.

For the sophisticated traveller, Marbella is a cosmopolitan city with a classy air of culture and charisma. Only 28 miles (45kms) from Malaga, Marbella is Spain’s answer to St Tropez, with a range of art galleries, magnificent stately buildings and uber-chic bistros. Its amphitheatre offering summer performances is a real treat, giving a sense of old world European culture at its best. Its impeccable coastline and café-lined promenade are the perfect hangouts to watch the rich and famous of the Costa del Sol come and go.

Marbella is also a hub of night-time activity, with a wide variety of alfresco bars and live music venues overlooking the Mediterranean which are open until the small hours of the morning.

Tired of spending too much money on the latest shoe trends? There are basic styles of shoes that are in style every year. If you purchase these basic shoes, you will be fashionable year after year and can save money by not buying the latest trends.

Basic 1-2 inch pumps

A neutral basic pump works very well at the office or a night out on the town. Basic pumps can get you through the warm weather as well as the cold weather. When shopping for a pump, look for a plain one with a one to two inch heel in black, brown, or tan. You will be surprised how many times you will be wearing them.

Black Knee High Boots

Treat your self to a pair of knee high boots, which are perfect for the fall and winter seasons. Knee high boots look great with longer and medium length skirts and dresses. You can put them under pants and crop pants for a fall look. Or, you can put them over your pants for a trendy riding boot look. When choosing knee high boots, you want black ones with 2 to 4 inch heels. Look for boots that are plain with very little embellishments, so you can get more wear out of them.

Essential Flats

Flats are great for women who don’t want to wear high heels, and they look great with casual skirts, dresses, and jeans. You can also wear them to the office under a nice pair of slacks or skirt. Before you purchase flats, make sure they are plain with very few embellishments. You can stick to the basic black, brown, or tan, or expand your neutrals to a gold or silver.

Classic White Sneakers

Sneakers are comfortable shoes that you can exercise, complete your errands, finish your household work, etc. Sneakers are perfect with casual pants, jeans, and shorts. Sometimes, you can even wear them with casual dresses or skirts. When shopping for sneakers, look for a classic sneaker that fits well. Always try on your sneakers and walk around with them before you start any vigorous activity. If the treads at the bottom of your sneakers are worn, it’s time for a new pair.

Strappy Evening Heels

Every girl’s best friend is a pair of open toe, strappy evening heels. Evening shoes can be really uncomfortable to wear at times, so make sure you get a pair of comfortable evening shoes. This way, you would not become the woman walking around without shoes or being carried to your destination. Look for evening shoes that will match the majority of your dressy outfits. If you wear more black to formal events, then you definitely want black shoes. However if this is not the case, brown or tan shoes would be fine.

Fun Sandals

Sandals are great for hot days and can be worn to picnic, barbeques, vacation or the beach. You can wear anything with sandals from swimsuits to a pair of jeans. When you look for new sandals, you want a classic thong since it never has gone out of style. Look for your sandal in black or neutral colors, so you can wear them with anything.

If you are looking for any of these types of shoes or have another color or style in mind, Shoes.com is the largest online retailer of shoes for the whole family. I am going to a sleep away camp over the summer, for four weeks. I am doing horseback riding lessons twice a week at the camp. However, the camp requires proper riding equipment (A helmet, boots, and those pants things), which I won’t use after camp, as I live in city with hardly any riding, and I am not that dedicated to it anyway. Is it possible to rent equipment for the four weeks?

It is so expensive to have to buy all that stuff.
EDIT: I would love to stick with riding after, but my family can’t afford it. Plus, the only riding place is about 1/2 an hour away, and I don’t have time with schoolwork and stuff.

The answer is yes. There are several websites where you can rent horse clothes. However, keep in mind that these rentals are usually for riders who show but can’t afford the cloths and therefor the clothing rental itself is expensive, plus the renters will expect them back in excellent condition (no dirt stains I’m afraid). Overall I really don’t suggest it.

A better avenue would probably be to look into resell. If you are only going to be using them for a short time and never intend to use them again condition, quality and brand-name aren’t very important. Something basic and cheap should do as long as it looks comfy. I’d try e-bay or amazon. Also, try contacting the camp and asking if they know of any place to get cloths cheap, they probably have plenty of campers with the same problem.

(P.S. the only thing you really don’t want to skimp on is the helmet. Pants that are a little loose or boots a pinch tight are bearable for a few weeks, but safety comes first and I would spend the money on a quality helmet)
