I am planning to go to a horse show next month and I need a pair of riding boots for it. I don’t have lots of money left to spend and leather riding boots cost $200+ so I’m planning to buy a pair of rubber riding boots. Do you think that’d be to embarrassing or could it work?

If you buy actually rubber riding boots, from a saddlery (and not from like a supermarket store whatever), that look like riding boots go for it! I use a $70 pair of rubber riding boots and they look the same as the leather ones. All my fully pro instructors do it all the time too.
The ones you’re looking at are perfect! They’re identical design to my ones!

Hey so i just bought this brand of riding show boots: dublin aristocrats field boots. I was just wondering how long it would take for these to break-in. I’ve only wore them once so far on my horse. I have a show june 14th and i want them to be broken in by then. Thanks

P.S what is the best thing to use to clean this type of riding boot ?
definitely try to wear your boots as much as possible in between now and the show. that will make it MUCH easier on your feet when you finally get to the show!
some helpful hints i use when breaking in tall boots would be:
-before you ride, spray alcohol on the boot around your ankle. this helps the boot to drop so they won’t look really tall on you, and will help to break them in and conform to your leg.
-wear 2 pairs of thin socks–that way, if the boot is rubbing you anywhere, it will rub against the first pair of socks and not your skin.
-always carry some band-aids with you just in case you get a blister
hope this helps! and good luck in your show!

Do teenaged boys wear the flat heeled ropers any more?
Ariat makes nice riding boots….you want a boot that has a little bit of a heel on it to keep your foot in the stirrups….when you go to any boot store or western store and tell them you need boots for riding and they should be able to show you several styles in several price ranges. Yes, teenaged boys still wear ropers….they are a classic boot that never goes out of style.

I need a new pair of western boots for riding, and i need them to be reasonably priced and last a long time. Preferably with a rounded toe. I also need to buy them at cavenders.
I love Ariat! Very comfy and supportive for your arch. Good sole too. Very well made, and reasonably priced. I like Justins too but, Justins just aren’t made like they used to be! I own both Justin and Ariats for Western Riding.
