Yesterday I got new Horse riding boots due to starting lessons(yay!)
and they are a little tight because they are new. Is the an easier way to break them in other than wearing them non stop?
*Looks down at feet*
My first lesson is on Saturday an I don't want to be uncomfortable.
Thanks for your help!
lol
HI IZZY!
Yeah, mine are Dublin… so comfy… but kinda tight… lol! When I showed my mum i told her I got some cleaner stuff or something and shes like "Is it called dubbin?" lol

I wouldn't oil them nor heat them (heat is going to shrink them and dry them out anyway. There are solutions (Boot Stretch) that you can use to spray your boots after you have them on. You can also use plain rubbing alcohol. The reason that you use these solutions is that they dry quicker, you could just use warm water, but it takes longer to dry. Spray and wear them until dry and the tight places will stretch out. Remember, the heels of new boots will slip up and down for a while, it's just part of the deal. Keep wearing your boots and remember, if you put anything on your boots like these solutions or Leather New or any cleaner or oil later on, put it on the whole boot, otherwise parts of your boots will not match the rest of the boot.

I’ve heard rubbing them down with alcohol and walking around in them works. Or to just wear them around the house for like 15 minutes at a time. But I’m really not sure if any of these works. I’m also reluctant to try them until I know they work, ’cause I have blisters on the back of my heels. Your answers will be much appreciated so thank you ahead of time! :)

soak them in water for a few minutes and then wear them while still wet around the house for a while, this will soften the leather and shape it to suit your feet,
Afterwards dont try to force the bootds to dry like with a blowdrier or on the raditator as they will become very hard.
Allow them to dry naturarlly mabye place some newspapers inside but dont stuff them in too tight.

Best of luck with them!

Thank you for your answers.

What a very strange question, what the hell would anyone possibly want to know that for, very intriguing!!!.

I bought new tall riding boots. They're a little uncomfortable, and it's hard to keep my heels down. I only ride once a week, so I need a way to break them in at home without ruining them.

along with what the others said (except for the water one) you should vacuum the house with them on. It gives you all the bending and walking you need for riding.. it really works well XD

I'm a vegetarian and I don't wear leather, making it hard for me to find some boots.
I'm a vegetarian, not a vegan. Also, I do feel kind of weird about riding an animal, to those who question what I'm doing riding horses.

Well you should wear leather. You don't want that cow hide going to waste after they are slaughtered so I can eat a nice juicy steak. Is your saddle and tack all synthetic? I doubt it.

Tall boots just seem like a pain and are expensive. Is there any practical reason for tall boots?

They keep your pants material still so that your legs aren't affected by your pants riding up. But it's much more comfortable to wear half chaps instead of tall boots.

I wore tall boots with jeans for a while because I hadn't bought half chaps yet. I needed tall boots for showing, but I was still pretty new to the riding thing and hadn't gotten half chaps and paddock boots. So I wore my tall boots with jeans when I rode. As soon as I got half chaps, I quit wearing my tall boots. Before shows I always try to slip into my boots and breeches just to get comfortable wearing them again before the show.
